1. Logon to https://eacademics.iitd.ac.in/sportal with your Kerberos ID and password.
2. Once logged in, on the left side of the page, click on the Pre-registration Application link.
3. On this page, student can view the following buttons on top of the page
below the personal details:
4. Students are advised to check the Grade Sheet first and the courses registered.
5. In order to register for a course, click on Request Course Button:
(a) There are 2 ways through which student can request for a course:
(i) Slot wise (ii) Course-wise
(b) Click on the slot search for a course you want to register else click on the course-wise option and search the course you want to register for.
(c) System will display only those courses which you have not done so far, i.e., courses done by you with Pass Grades and currently registered courses (Ist Semeter 2018-2019) will not be displayed.
(d) Once the course is chosen, system will check for pre-requisite for that course. If the required pre-requisite course is not done, system will not allow you to register for the course.
(e) System also won't let you register for a course which overlaps with another course which you have already done with Pass Grades.
(f) In case if there is a pre-requisite which the student has currently registered, then system will assume that you will clear the course with Pass Grades and will let you register for the course.
(g) The above stated point (e) is true for Pre-requisite of credits also.
(h) Once the pre-requisite check is cleared, system would display Course Description, Slot, Credits and Name of Instructor along with pre-requisite.
(i) System will also display the Course Category under which the course will be given to the student.
(j) After this, the student should submit the course requested.
(k) In case, if you don't clear the course, then you'll be deregistered from the course.
(l) After this, the course will be displayed in the Time slot where it is offered at the bottom of the screen, and the course registered information will be shown at the top of the screen also.
(m) In this way, student can register for various courses.
(n) There is a credit limit also set for each student so the student won't be able to register for more than the credit limit set.
6. UG students (BTech & Dual Degree) can also register for Humanities course through the preference option given on the top of the page under the button Request HUL courses.
(a) Students will be shown those HU/HS Courses which:
(i) is clearing the course/credit pre-requisites. (if any)
(ii) has done at least two, 200 level HU/HS courses to register for 300 level HU/HS courses.
(iii) has done earlier but failed in that course.
(b) In this the students can mark his/her preferences (Max. 15 choices)
(c) Then Submit the HU/HS request.
(d) Disclaimer:
(i) The preference order for allocation of course in the SAME slot is as follows: Core Courses, Humanities Courses, Other Courses as per Course of Study.
(ii) For HUL requests, you can provide upto 15 preferences.
(iii) If a preferred Humanities course is not allocated due to course limit, then any random HU course may be allotted based on availability.
7. 1st Year UG entry students will not be able to register for any course as they will be registered automatically for relevant courses.
8. For all Post Graduate Students (Phd/MTECH/MBA/MSR/MSC), the request for HU course is not applicable.
9. All Phd Students are requested to register for DTD899 course offered in X slot.
10. On the Left side of the Main Page, students can also view other links
namely Courses of Study and courses offered in the Current Semester.

4. Students who have pre registered for Courses and filled HU Choice sheet the allocations were carried out.
5. Based on the allocation rules the courses were alloted, which students will be able to see now under Add/Drop option
6. If any of the courses the student would like to ADD/Drop they can do from the link ADD/Drop Application
7. UG students who wants to drop any Core courses if would require approval from Course Coordinator and then from CGR
8. When UG Students drop any HU Category course the system would accept the drop request immediately how ever if any UG student Opts for any HU category course the system will put him/her unde waitlist
9. Where ever there is a exception involved like more than credit limit prescribed students wants to , or studeints wants to do more than one HU course etc etc it is requested that stundets may contact CGR and the ACademic UG/PG section for increasing the credit limit and adding of courses (in case of any exceptions)
10. Any course other that HU category course if the vacany is available in that course system would accept the request and allot the course subject to students ful filling the pre requisite
11. System would accept the request in system if the course of of CORE in nature provided the student fullfills the pre requiste condition
12. For PG students old as well as new joinees they would be able to Add any course other than UG level courses provided there is a vacancy in the course
13. PG (Phd) students can also drop any course except DTD899 if they have registered earlier.

Rules:
(a) Auditing a course requires the approval of the course coordinator
Please inform your course coordinator and request him/her to approve the audit request online.
(b)Auditing a CORE course is not allowed.
(c)Withdrawal from electives do not need any approval.
(d)Withdrawal from CORE courses are discouraged. For special cases, withdrawal from a CORE course require approval by the Chairman, Grades and registration.
NOTES:
(i) The students have to check if all their courses are correctly being reflected in the academic portal. If not, please inform UGS/PGS.
(ii) Please ensure that your approvals are done in time (from faculty, if needed) to avoid difficulties later. In case approval is not done, the audit /withdrawal would not happen.
(iii)UG students with a minimum earned credits of 85 (2015 entry and later) can only apply to audit a course. Here: "Earned credits" means excluding Non-Graded Unit (NGU) credits. For PG students, audit courses are not counted as valid earned credits. Students need to keep track of this, and the system is not programmed to check this. This is for your information.
